Selangor has the highest daily infectivity rate in Malaysia (RT) for Covid-19 with 1.13, based on the numbers posted by Health Director General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah online.
It’s higher than the national average which is at 0.99.
The state is not the only one which has a higher infectivity rate as the other states such as Johor, Melaka, Kuala Lumpur, Sarawak, Pahang and Terengganu also recorded RT of higher than 0.99.
Below is the list from highest infectivity rate to the lowest according to state:
- Selangor – 1.13
- Johor – 1.12
- Melaka – 1.09
- Kuala Lumpur – 1.06
- Sarawak – 1.05
- Pahang – 1.01
- Terengganu – 1.00
- Perak – 0.95
- Penang – 0.92
- Negeri Sembilan – 0.89
- Labuan – 0.88
- Kedah – 0.86
- Sabah – 0.85
- Putrajaya – 0.80
- Kelantan – 0.76
- Perlis – 0.62

To understand the real situation of the pandemic in the country, Dr Noor Hisham said there are five indicators that need to be evaluated:
- Infection rate (Ro / Rt)
- Number of deaths
- Number of infected health workers
- The ability of hospitals to provide beds to treat patients
- Ability of public and private laboratories to conduct screening tests

Selangor recorded 1,228 cases on 5 February 2021, taking the number of cumulative cases to 75,297.
Based on the data from the Selangor Task Force Covid-19, the state has 4,185 active cases as of yesterday.
