Ramadhan is nearly upon us, and this year, KFC is offering a limited-time Zesty Crunch fried chicken that’s crunchy and zesty. This special flavour will be available throughout the month of Ramadhan and Hari Raya.

The vibrant new flavour features Argentinian-inspired chimichurri sauce, made with lots of chopped lime, cilantro, parsley, and garlic. Appearance-wise, the chicken looks like it’s been scattered with a handful of chopped green herbs, nestled between its crunchy coating.

The Taste Test

At first bite, the crunch and flavour profiles is quite similar to that of the usual Hot and Spicy Chicken, but with a delightful bright taste.

The Zesty Crunch is bright, savoury, and spicy, with a refreshing taste of herbs. There is a light tartness that tingles the mouth and awakens the appetite. There are plenty of enjoyable flavours in the chicken, which is all at once citrusy, tangy, garlicky, herby, with just the right amount of spicy.

The Verdict

The Zesty Crunch is a lovely twist to your usual KFC, but doesn’t deviate too much away from it. The nice tingles and bursts of herbs is a wonderful addition to keep things interesting, but isn’t overwhelming.

If you like KFC’s usual spicy chicken, you would very likely enjoy the Zesty Crunch as well.
