At today’s press conference, Science, Technology, and Innovation Minister, Khairy Jamaluddin confirmed that Phase 2 of the AstraZenecca vaccine opt-in program will be open to all starting tomorrow, 26 May 2021.

Registrations will be open beginning at 12 noon, on the Covid-19 vaccination website HERE.

To register for the AZ vaccine, you must register on both your MySejahtera app and online at the Covid-19 vaccination website.

We have given a few days for the elderly, so we have decided that for AZ phase 2 in Klang Valley, Pulau Pinang, Johor and Sarawak registration will be open to all under the age of 60 starting 12 noon Wednesday, 26 May 2021, which is tomorrow.

Yesterday, 24th May 2021, the highest number of vaccine doses were provided to Malaysians at 95,000 doses given.

The AZ vaccine is the only vaccine available to the general public who are under the age of 60 and are not frontliners.

As of now, there are 1.26 million doses of the AZ vaccine set aside for Phase 2, however only 228,347 slots have been taken up so far.

Registrations for Phase 2 of the AZ vaccine was first only opened to the elderly above 60 years old. However, only 18% of the doses have been claimed.

As such, the remaining Phase 2 vaccines will be open to ALL, including those under the age of 60. However, the vaccines will only be available in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Penang, Johor, and Sarawak.
