It’s another dark day for Malaysia. As we enter the second day of total lockdown (June 2) it is reported that there were 126 recorded Covid-19 related deaths today. The highest since May 29 which recorded 98 deaths.
At the same time, it is reported that there are 878 patients in ICUs and 441 of them need ventilators. The highest recorded to date for both.
In total there have been 2,993 recorded Covid-19 related deaths since the beginning of the pandemic last year. This brings the percentage of deaths among Covid-19 patients to more than half-a-percent or 0.51%. The total confirmed cases so far is 587,165.
This is the first time that the daily fatality count from Covid-19 reached the three-digit mark in Malaysia.
