Malaysia has hit a new high in Covid-19 cases as the country records 23,564 infections on 20 August – the third consecutive day that cases have broken the daily record.
On 19 August, 22,948 Covid-19 cases have been recorded, a day after the the country reported 22,242 cases.
Here’s the breakdown of each state according to Health Director-General Tan Sri Noor Hisham Abdullah:
- Selangor – 6,974
- Kuala Lumpur – 1,652
- Johor – 1,323
- Sabah – 2,738
- Sarawak – 2,548
- Negeri Sembilan – 608
- Kedah – 1,932
- Pulau Pinang – 1,523
- Kelantan – 1,281
- Perak – 1,248
- Melaka – 610
- Pahang – 517
- Terengganu – 521
- WP Labuan – 1
- WP Putrajaya – 24
- Perlis – 64
In total, Malaysia has cumulated a total of 1,513,024 Covid-19 infections since the pandemic began.
