Covid-19 infections in Malaysia have broken yet another record with 20,596 new cases, 777 more than yesterday’s.

As per the usual, the Ministry of Health confirmed the high number of cases in a tweet today.

This brings the total number of cases to 1,203,706 in Malaysia to date.

The following is a breakdown for each state (cumulative):

  • Selangor – 8,549 (442,574)
  • WP KL – 2,163 (133,588)
  • Johor – 1,300 (96,687)
  • Sabah – 1,062 (89,910)
  • Sarawak – 759 (79,522)
  • Negeri Sembilan – 989 (75,767)
  • Kedah – 1,446 (52,103)
  • Penang – 1,022 (49,939)
  • Kelantan – 772 (46,695)
  • Perak – 916 (41,665)
  • Melaka – 622 (34,153)
  • Pahang – 426 (27,199)
  • Terengganu – 501 (19,213)
  • WP Labuan – 15 (9,698)
  • WP Putrajaya – 50 (4,237)
  • Perlis – 4 (756)

Previously, the highest number of new cases in Malaysia was 19,819 cases recorded yesterday (August 4).
