A chemical plant in Klang is given a RM 10,000 fine by the Selangor Department of Environment (DOE) for discharging red waste into public drains.

The Department said in a Facebook post that the factory failed to comply with several rules related to scheduled waste management.

It’s also mentioned that the factory, which is located in Kawasan Perindustrian Sungai Puloh, Klang is being investigated for the release of red sludge into public drains found during an inspection over the weekend.

Wastewater samples from the plant process were taken for chemical analysis and allowed further enforcement action to be taken.
