The Immigration Department has warned foreign nationals to abide by Malaysia’s Covid-19 SOPs or risk being deported back to their country.

Director-General Datuk Khairul Dzaimee Daud issued a statement addressing the issue of foreign nationals violating SOPs and said that there are those who deliberately challenge the authorities to take action against them.

In this regard, the Malaysian Immigration Department (JIM) advises all foreign nationals to abide by the current directives and regulations of government agencies regarding Covid-19 pandemic prevention measures.

He said that the department will not hesitate to cancel their travel passes and other immigration privileges.

They will also be deported to their country of origin and blacklisted from re-entering the country, as provided in Section 8 and Section 9 of the Immigration Act 1959/63.

The Department also reminds local employers and sponsors to foreign staff to be more responsible in ensuring their charges comply with the rules here.
