The Malaysian Health Ministry (KKM) released new quarantine guidelines for individuals who’ve had close contact with Covid-positive patients.

The new SOP determines how long denizens need to be quarantined according to their vaccination status.

The SOP comes into effect on Sunday (16 January) and applies to those currently isolating and in quarantine.

TLDR: People who’ve received their Covid-booster vaccination shots are to be placed in 5 days of quarantine if they had close contact with Covid-positive cases; meanwhile, those with completed, incomplete and no vaccination status would be quarantined for 7 days.

Close contacts would only be released from quarantine after completing the isolation period and testing negative for Covid.
