Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the government is ready to hold a general election (PRU) if Perikatan Nasional (PN) withdraws its support.
He said elections must be held afterwards if the support is withdrawn.
If everyone is ready for the election, there is no choice for us (other than) to hold an election. The government is ready in any situation, we are ready.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob on the goverment’s preparedness for election.

Giving Benefit Of The Doubt
He said perhaps only one or two PN leaders did not support him.
As such, he cannot take action as it must be based on the party’s official statement, said Ismail, who is also the Umno vice president.
The relationship between Ismail and PN, especially Bersatu, a pillar of the coalition, is reported to be cold.
PN is a political coalition composed of Bersatu, PAS, Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (STAR), Parti Maju Sabah (SAPP) and Gerakan.
Bersatu said its demands were not being acted upon, including Ismail’s written agreement to appoint a deputy prime minister from Bersatu.

Ismail also drew Bersatu’s ire when he retained Zuraida Kamaruddin as the minister of enterprise, plantation and commodities even though she left the party last May.
The Star reported that the PN leadership was disappointed and “lost patience” after Ismail Sabri reportedly cancelled a meeting with the PN Secretary General, Hamzah Zainudin, at the last minute.
The report quoted Sabah PN leadership as saying that the option to withdraw support for Ismail was discussed in the coalition meeting last week.
However, Bersatu Supreme Council Member Faiz Na’aman described the report as “provocative” and insisted that the party would remain with its previous position in supporting Ismail.
Netizens have lambasted PN for being obsessed with positions at a time when the people are struggling economically.
They said voters would surely punish the coalition in GE15.

Before this, several parties called for GE15 to be held immediately after more and more political confusion occurred in the country, destabilizing the central government.
In addition, political analysts also think that only GE15 can resolve the crisis involving the power struggle between political parties.
