Queen Elizabeth II has passed away peacefully on 8 September 2022 at the age of 96.

According to official royal news, she passed away at Balmoral surrounded by her family.

Her reign spans 70 years, as she first assumed the throne in 1952 at the tender age of 26.

Her son Prince Charles will now succeed as ruling monarch of the United Kingdoms.
