YouTube recently hosted its second YouTube Festival at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC), Kuala Lumpur, to celebrate the achievements of YouTubers and advertisers.
The first time they hosted it was back in 2019, prior to the pandemic.
YouTube awarded eight local YouTubers with its Gold Creator Awards for reaching one million subscribers. The eight YouTubers are:
Lizz Chloe (Dumpling Soda), Isaac Osman,
Syafiq Aiman, Azfar Badrul, Alex Ho (알렉스티비ALEXTV), Roshede Basri (Syedot ASMR), Banden Tong (Banden) and Changyong.
YouTube also announced the winners for its YouTube Works Awards Malaysia.

This award celebrates advertisers’ innovation and creativity in their campaigns in five categories.
The winners are: Allianz Malaysia – Action Driver, Hotlink – Best Collaboration: Brand & YouTube Creators, Carsome – Best Media Innovation, Celcom – Best Storytelling and RHB Group – Force For Good.
Additionally, Carsome took home the top prize, the 2022 YouTube Malaysia Ad of the Year award for its Carsome X Cantona: Driving Standards Forward campaign.
The advertisement featured footballer Eric Cantona who played for France and Manchester United, among others.
In a statement earlier this year, Carsome said Cantona embodied everything the company was – a relentless spirit that led one of the biggest football clubs to legendary glory.
Just like the path Carsome was paving for the used car industry, the company said that was why they teamed up with Cantona.
The Ad of the Year award is given to an advertisement that shows the most effective, creative, innovative, and data-driven campaign that also drove demonstrable business results.
