According to MetMalaysia, strong winds are expected to be concentrated along the East Coast in the Peninsular and result in continuous rain in the area from 6 to 9 January 2023.

Meanwhile, thunderstorms and heavy rains together with strong winds are predicted to occur in interior areas, on the West coast of the Peninsular, and the centre and north of Sarawak in the afternoon to night time.

MetMalaysia has also updated its forecast of continuous rain in Kelantan and Terengganu.

Additionally, the strong winds and rough seas warning in the South China Sea is still in effect until 5 January 2023.
