A 12-year-old boy, Muhammad Hasyir Mohd Falzi, wanted to remove a jacket that was stuck on a motorcycle chain.

Unfortunately, his left hand also got stuck in the process.

The Tanjong Karang Fire and Rescue Station team rushed to his rescue.

Led by the operations commander Senior Fire Officer (PBK) II, Zuraini Mohamed Rawian, the firefighters cut parts of the motorcycle using Road Traffic Accident (RTA) equipment until the victim’s hand was successfully removed.

The victim, whose left hand was seriously injured, was then taken to the Tanjong Karang Hospital for further examination.

The victim received an anaesthetic injection during the rescue work.

The fire department reportedly took about 15 minutes to remove the victim’s hand from the motorcycle chain.
