To say that Coldplay’s concert tickets are much sought after would be an understatement. Barely half an hour since the pre-sale opened for CIMB cardholders and the ticketing system appears to have crashed.

While some started getting in the virtual queue since 9am, many kept getting the “rate exceeded” error message when they click on the Buy Now link from Go Live Asia or Live Nation’s website.

One fan however has successfully secured four tickets.

Hardcore Coldplay fan who only wishes to be identified as Victor shared with us that he started getting in the virtual queue at 8.50am.

With the ticket sales officially having started at 10am, Victor said he successfully completed the transaction and walked away with four Category 2 tickets at about 10.35am.

The pre-sale for CIMB cardholders as well as general sale which kicks off tomorrow have a limit of 4 tickets per cardholder. The organiser informed that tickets for the pre-sale session are limited and does not indicate seats will be better than other sale sessions.

Tips and Tricks

If you’re getting the “rate exceeded” message, try refreshing the page several times. This will eventually load the page for you, as we found out.

You will keep seeing the error message after you’ve been prompted to sign into your account. Keep hitting refresh and you will finally end up in the queue.
