The younger generation has always been accused of being lazy or behaving unprofessionally at work.
Recently, a Twitter user known as Zizannin (@zizannin) lamented about his intern for failing to compose a proper email.
His intern messaged on Whatsapp to ask if he could take leave on Friday. Zizannin approved the leave on Whatsapp and told the intern to send an email regarding the matter and to CC the admin and editing department for proper records.
However, the way the intern wrote the email looked unprofessional. The intern included a title and wrote a line to state when he’ll return to work.
pening, upset & simpati pun ada dgn intern aku ni, bila aku suruh email tu..i'd expect to see a proper communication lah..aiyooo..apa yg dorang ni belajar eh? we were trained to write those dys, skrg ni senang.. google je..mcm2 template muncul #communication #commonsense pic.twitter.com/c7zGXIj2Oy

While the intern’s email was succinct, Zizannin found it unacceptable for an email. Zizannin said he expected to see “proper communication” and stated they were trained to write in those days.
Zizannin said the intern could have Googled for templates if he didn’t know how to compose a proper formal email.
via WApp yes acceptable, not in email..its still a form of communication – hence lazy, lack of common sense, poor quality of employee bla bla

The reactions from netizens were split. Some agreed with Zizannin and advised him to withhold the leave until the intern learns and sends a proper email to request leave.
A netizen added that the intern could use a program like ChatGPT to help compose the email properly.
On the other hand, there were also others who thought it was also unprofessional for Zizannin to put his intern on a blast publicly.
Although he blurred the intern’s name and picture, netizens think Zizannin showed poor leadership by shaming the intern publicly in the guise of imparting a lesson.
They believe Zizannin should have advised the intern privately and provided guidance instead of public shaming.
They pointed out that Zizannin was also “trained” to write long ago. After all, everybody starts somewhere and learns at different paces.
Amidst the criticisms, Zizannin doubled down and said he has the right to do what he did because he believed it was to impart knowledge.
To this, some netizens think his behaviour felt arrogant and entitled as a boss.
abg dh lulus awal, dlm WApp tu..xde masalah pun…nx wk colleagues akan bantu & guide dorang, benda kecik je ni sebenarnya, suka suki kongsi tukar pendapat, tp ramai plak bitter..sedey idop dorang

Should advice him to learn to use https://t.co/T3sY6JfDRk if he is unsure on what to write. It’s a great tool for him to use to educate himself on writing a proper email etc.

But I agree, intern or no intern, common sense is key…
Guidance is not just from text or email. Go get up from your comfy seat to talk f2f kalau betul nak guide. Tak faham jugak, call explain. Tak semua orang ada kelebihan untuk faham pertama kali. No point sharing to public sebab menunjukkan banyak kelemahan leadership. https://t.co/MYNsvS5UKN

Masa intern dulu camnilah. Being belittle from the staff. Kita pernah kerja dulu, apply cuti by system, staff sana ajar the moment kita cakap nak apply cuti. Ini? bila kita buat salah dcanang satu dunia, time study takde subjek yang ajar how to apply for leave. kami tak tahu

Do you not see the irony. You think your intern is unprofessional but you're posting about them on social media. Do you not think that's unprofessional behavior? How are you going to expect your employees to be professional when you yourself are not?

Yikes https://t.co/VjCOjKwAzz
Sorry, rasa triggered sangat bab ni sebab ramai sangat bosses rasa too entitled tak boleh buat salah langsung macam dia perfect. Pastu bila buat bagus dia la yang paling terrer. Bila salah, bukan salah dia. Leaders take the blame for the weakness of their anak2 buah. Malu sikit.
