Being a parent is never easy, especially when your child falls sick.

Forty year old, Diela Norain who is a mother of three, recently reached out for help on her social media page after her youngest child, 8 month old Ayden was diagnosed with a serious medical condition called congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH).

According to her post, the family has been struggling financially due to the medical costs that they have had to bear for both their children.

Her daughter Heidi, 3, also suffers from post-infectious bronchiolitis obliterans (PIBO) which unfortunately, has no cure.

She also added that recently Ayden had undergone a few procedures to figure out the reason behind his constant rapid breathing and deep recession only to be told that he also suffers from pulmonary hypoplasia, a complication of CDH, and laryngomalacia, a birth defect.

She explained that pulmonary hypoplasia is a condition in which the lungs are abnormally small, and do not have enough tissue and blood flow to allow the baby to breathe on his or her own.

This, she was told, could prove to be a life-threatening condition.

On the other hand, Diela added that the doctors also told her and her husband that the birth defect that her son suffers from called laryngomalacia could result in stridor which is a high-pitched sound that is heard when the child inhales.

Unfortunately for Ayden, he suffers from all the worst symptoms these issues could cause.

Speaking to the Rakyat Post, she noted that she is looking for help as her husband and her cannot handle the medical bills on their own.

The treatments are expensive and ongoing. Doctors have also told us that these will be long term treatments. I am not looking at any specific amount but any amount given is a small burden lifted from our shoulders.

She added that Ayden will now require a continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) machine to help him which will cost the family a whopping RM7,000 to RM9,000.

This excludes the other additional costs that my husband and I are handling for our daughter as well. I am reaching out to you today with a sincere plea for assistance. The cost of medical expenses is overwhelming, and we are struggling to make ends meet.  Any help you can provide, no matter how small, would be deeply appreciated. We are so sorry. This is the only way we can think.
