In Langkawi, a six-year-old boy has reportedly driven a car and crashed it into a pole.

While some reports suggest that the child claimed the car was being driven by a “hairy grandpa” (tokwan berbulu), the police have rejected any claims of supernatural occurrences related to the incident.

Langkawi OCPD, Assistant Commissioner Shariman Ashari, said his side rejected the allegation that there was a mystical element to the incident as spread on social media.

According to the police chief, the child demonstrated knowledge of operating the car’s pedals, gears, and engine and even explained how to use the gears to a traffic investigator.

The child reversed the car out of the driveway before the accident occurred.

Still, the car’s dashboard camera footage revealed that the child’s driving was unstable and included some swerving into opposite lanes.

It is unclear how the child accessed and drove the car in the first place.

On the night of the incident, the child involved backed up the car first before leaving the house yard.

Shariman said the car’s dashboard camera inspection, however, found that the driving was not very stable, sometimes slightly entering the opposite lane, to the left and right.
