Following the announcement that we have once again hit record numbers of new Covid-19 cases, netizens took to the internet to express their bafflement and outrage.
Nationwide, Malaysia recorded 8,868 more Covid-19 cases on Thursday (July 8), says the Health Ministry. This is the country’s second highest daily figure of all time, behind the 9,020 cases reported on May 29.
Selangor recorded an all time high of 4,152 new cases, while Kuala Lumpur has 1,133 new infections. However, we are seeing this rise in numbers despite the state having tightened restrictions with a full lockdown since June.
Secara teori lockDOWN patut TURUNkan kes, tapi realitinya kita dalam lockUP ⬆️

Klang Valley residents had put their lives and livelihood on hold, closing businesses and staying at home, for the sake of public health. However, such sacrifices seem to be in vain.
Think about it – you say workplace cluster. Yes, but more people were going to work & doing business before lockdowns. Before, there were hari raya & terawih cases. Interstate travel almost non-existent. Even if the lockdown is not “proper”, how can cases be similar to before?

Just 1 month, 133 new clusters. If you were like me yesterday wondering how is our number so high, I hope this clarify that for you & mind you I was only able to get whatever on @KKMPutrajaya . So any update and addition to all this cluster, I’m not sure what’s the actual total

This also comes hot on the heels of a political unrest, with the sudden promotion of a new Deputy Prime Minister and the withdrawal of support from UMNO for the PN government.
Additionally, more key economic sectors were allowed to operate beginning yesterday.

>shitty gov somehow allows factories to open 1 week during lockdown while others are still stuck at home
YEAH MALAYSIA BOLEH!
The wave of frustration, disappointment, fear, and anger have gripped the country as its people face yet another political upheaval in the midst of a pandemic while half the country starves.
