We see a growing number of problems single mothers face in society, such as financial struggles, lack of support and emotional battles.
A female teacher who went shopping at a supermarket found some abandoned kids.
Sharing her experience on Facebook, the teacher said she suddenly heard the cry of a child from the stairs of the store next to the supermarket.
She followed the sound of the cries and found five children in the corner of the stairs, the oldest of which was a 7-year-old daughter.
It was her students, and some children kept crying because they were hungry.
She could only do much to comfort the children as an iron gate separated them.
When I walked into the supermarket, I found that the child’s mother was working inside, so I hurriedly told her that her child had been crying on the stairs.
The teacher narrating how she tried to inform the mother.
Unexpectedly, after hearing this, the mother said: “It’s okay; the child is like this because no one feeds him, so he keeps crying.”
The teacher was overwhelmed by the mother’s answer but sad that she could not help.
The mother was forced to work in a supermarket to support her family after being abandoned by her husband.
Since no one cared for the children at home, she had to drag five children to work with her on the store’s stairs next to the supermarket.
The teacher added that when the woman was working, her 7-year-old daughter had to act as a nanny to help care for her four younger siblings.
The Facebook posting has been shared more than 6,700 times.
Netizens left messages expressing sympathy for the woman’s experience.
Some even left messages expressing their willingness to help the woman and asked how to find her.
Some netizens even hope this human tragedy will get the government’s attention, especially the social welfare department, so that they can help the family tide over the difficulties.
