Our healthcare workers have worked tirelessly during the pandemic and still continued doing so post-Covid 19 despite being short-staffed.
Amidst the other workplace issues they’re facing, they continue to show up to work to care for those who need it most.
This is shown once again in a Facebook post by a netizen named Chun Guan. According to Chun Guan, he was at Kuala Lumpur Hospital (HKL) when he spotted a nurse working with a drip attached to her hand.
Feeling surprised, he approached the nurse and checked in on her. The nurse explained that she was feeling a little unwell and the drip allows her to continue carrying out her duties.
When Chun Guan asked why she didn’t take a rest day instead, she said there weren’t enough staff working in the hospital that day.
Chun Guan also found that the nurse is from Terengganu and would only be able to ‘balik kampung’ next Raya.
The story touched the hearts of many netizens who admired her dedication and hard work. They also wished her well and hoped she makes a speedy recovery.
A few of them also shared similar experiences and told tales of a packed ward during the holiday seasons.
Meanwhile, some netizens couldn’t fathom why healthcare workers are forced to work in these conditions.
While the nurse’s behaviour was seen as admirable, she likely had no choice in the matter so netizens said the issue shouldn’t be glorified. They believe healthcare workers need to be treated better.
Same with every festive season. During CNY a Chi doctor have to work overtime, cos she said during festive seasons got more accident patients. No choice.

And don’t ever glorify this, instead, we need to be angry.

Tak faham kenapa nak kena kerah pekerja2 kesihatan macam ni (yes kerajaan x letak bajet yg mencukupi) … Diorang dahlah kena "handle" nyawa orang lain jugak..
