The fire that broke out at a TNB main intake substation at the MidValley Megamall Shopping Centre earlier today resulted in power outages at some premises.

In a statement, TNB said they sent their technical team to the location.

They also said there were power disruptions around MidValley and parts of Desa Pantai.

Meanwhile, Nu Sentral Management Office confirmed there was an unscheduled power shut down incident at the shopping centre today.

“The Mall is being supported by temporary power supplies until the authorities restore the regular power source.

“For the safety of our shoppers, NU Sentral Shopping Centre will be closed until further notice,” it said.

According to the Fire and Rescue Department, the fire happened in a room 40×40 square feet and was already 70 per cent razed.

The fire was brought under control at 12.40pm and there were no injuries or fatalities.

However, the New Straits Times reported that a fire has been reported again, hours after it was put out.

They said firemen were working to contain the new fire.
